syllabus
each lesson will be an hour and a half long + time for clean-up at the end. all materials are provided and covered by the cost of the class

weeks one and two
centering & hand build
learn the basics of wheel throwing. depending on time and availability of stations, hand building may also be covered
weeks three and four
trimming
using tools and the wheel, refine your pieces once they have dried to leather hard. learn how to pull and attach handles.
week five
free work
put your new skills to work and create additional pieces or finish your existing pieces before they are bisque fired.
week 6
glazing
your pieces are now bisque fired and ready to glaze. learn how to mask with wax and tape, and glaze by pouring, dipping, or brushing.
project goals
the goals for the class are to learn the basics of pottery. finished projects goals: 3 Hand builds, 2 bowls, 1 mug or handled vessel. most students have time to create beyond this expectation.
